Swimming With Fishes!

Fishes Shower Screen

Well more a case of showering with them actually with this lovely glass screen that features a family of white fishes swimming among the reeds.

The fishes motif is the same both sides so looks good on either side of the bath. The screen iteself is is made from 3mm thick toughened safety glass and one edge is rounded off at the top to add a bit of extra style.

Sliding Doors

A Smooth Operator

Coram Sliding Shower Screen

Stunning is how we would describe this minimalist frameless design by Coram. Another word might also be clever.

That's because it uses their patented slide-and-lock technology which ensures that even when fully extended the screen is perfectly straight and rigid. It also means that the screen won't suddenly start sliding back when you least expect it!

When not required, the second screen slides in behind the first affording good access to the bath. With it's chrome anodised runners its good looking, and the 5mm thick glass is strong and safe.

Folding Shower Screen

Seven Times Better!

Seven Panel Folding Screen

For the best possible coverage against stray splashes from your overbath shower, you can't beat this seven panel folding screen.

Extending to almost 5 feet, is is plenty enough to cover most bath widths. When not required it can fold up against the wall and take up almost no space!

This screen is also ideal if you are looking for a bath screen for a corner bath - many people have found this model useful in that case.

Great value at Argos right now.

Sail On

Modern Shower Screen Design

Sail Shower Screen and Towel Rail at Amazon

Here's a really modern design of shower screen. This sail design features a dramatic sloping edge - but don't worry, the top edge is rounded off so perfectly safe!

There are three configurations available but we think this is the best one. It features a single screen 79cm wide made from clear glass at a very safe 6mm thick.

The best bit is that this version comes with an integrate towel rail which is really handy as you step out of the bath. At around £85 from Amazon it's good value for the spec.

Best of Both Worlds

Curtains For The Shower Screen?

Amazon Splash Guard and Towel Rail at B and Q

This novel design gives you the best of both worlds here with a fixed glass splash screen and a curtain rail (curtain not supplied).

The screen has an integrated towel rail and is reversible so can be installed on the inside or the ouside. The glass is a good 6mm thick and so very sturdy.

The glass even has an anti-calc coating to prevent limescale build-up and therefore making cleaning much easier.

Why buy a shower screen?

Many of us don't have the luxury of a separate shower cubicle and so resort to an over bath shower. However, water splashes can often soak the rest of the bathroom and while a shower curtain is an option, they are often opaque and make the room look smaller. They can quickly get tatty and attract mould.

A fixed or folding glass shower screen is the answer, providing protection against splashes and adding a touch of style to your bathroom.

Single Shower Screen

These often are a single glass screen with a white or silver frame and hinge 90 degrees outwards, and often 90 degrees inwards too. They can usually be fixed to either side of the bath and some have the added luxury of an integrated towel rail.

Folding Shower Screen

Usually composed of 4 or 5 single slim panels, these screens cover a greater width than a single screen, and can often fold flat against the wall when not in use. Great if you often take baths as well as showers. Some screens offer a locking mechanism so that little fingers don't get trapped!

Fitting A Screen

Most screens attach to the wall and require a small amount of DIY. This can need a bit of extra skill if you need to drill into tiles. Consult a local handyman if you are unsure. To a skilled DIYer it is not a big job.
